Median of every convertible quote in the last 45 days. A crop is priced in a market only when at least three quotes there use a pack with a real net weight.

Reported, but not priceable by the pound

USDA quotes chinese chives, parsley and watercress only in bunches or count packs — crates and cartons with no net weight on them. Dividing one of those by a guessed weight is how you get a fake premium, so these are left out of the table rather than estimated. They are still in the app, priced in the unit they are actually sold in.

Common questions

What is AGEYE Market Intelligence?

AGEYE Market Intelligence is a free wholesale produce price reference for growers, covering 15 crops across all 11 US terminal markets that USDA publishes. Prices are real reported sales from USDA AMS Terminal Market reports, updated every trading day.

Where does this price data come from?

Every price comes from USDA AMS Terminal Market reports, the US Department of Agriculture's daily record of wholesale sales at terminal markets. It is reported sales data, not a survey and not a model, and it is US government work in the public domain.

How current are these wholesale prices?

Prices are current through September 4, 2026. USDA publishes terminal market reports every trading day, and this page reflects the most recent report available for each market.

What is a terminal market?

A terminal market is a wholesale distribution hub where produce arrives in volume and is sold to retailers, foodservice buyers and secondary wholesalers. USDA reports prices from 11 such markets across the United States, which is where these figures come from.

Which crop currently has the highest wholesale price?

Chives currently has the highest median wholesale price of the crops tracked here, at $10.00 per pound across 8 US terminal markets. Greens has the lowest at $2.63 per pound.

Why do some crops have no price per pound?

USDA quotes chinese chives, parsley and watercress only in bunches or count packs, which carry no net weight. Dividing such a price by a guessed weight produces a fake premium, so those crops are named and left out of the per-pound table rather than estimated.

Is AGEYE Market Intelligence free to use?

AGEYE Market Intelligence price pages are free to read and require no account. The full application — market comparison, the quote checker, freight-netted lane economics and the weekly digest — is also free to use, and does require creating an account.

Can I reuse these prices in my own work?

The underlying USDA terminal market data is US government work and is in the public domain. Canadian reference prices come from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada under the Open Government Licence – Canada, which permits reuse with attribution. Redistributing this service or substantial portions of its data as a product of your own is not permitted under the Terms of Use.
